Thanks to Stirling based Chapel Farm Stockist and Dog Trainer Jim Fleming for the update on the progress of his young bitch pup Ruby who is now 18 weeks old.
She was at her first working day last week and although kept well back from the action Jim reports that she was very well behaved and interested in all that was happening. She is certainly very alert looking in the photo.

Northumberland and Durham held their 2-Day Open Retriever Trial on the 5th and 6th of October at Whitfield Estate by kind permission of Mr Blackett-Ord with head keeper Gamekeeper Stuart Maughan.
Judges were Mr Wayne Mitchell, Mrs Lynn Mitchell, Mr Mark Demaine and Mr Allan Downie.

We are delighted to note that Chapel Farm sponsored handlers were well represented among the prize-winners being awarded First, Third, and Guns Choice.
1st Place and Best Handler awarded to John Halsted with Macgiriaght Foxy Lady.
2nd place Stewart North with Northglen Crumble.
3rd place and Best Dog on a Runner, Lee Hartis with Troddenmills Full Throttle of Leacaz.
4th place Birgitta Stafflund-Wiberg with Meadowlark Pergite.

Congratulations once more to Chapel Farm sponsored handler John Halsted on achieving first place in the 2-Day Retriever Open Stake organised by Forth and Clyde Working Gundog Association on the 2nd and 3rd of October.

The Trial was held by kind permission of Drummond Estates with Steward Mr G Ford and Judges, Mr T West, Mr D Sorley, Mr T Leitch and Mr G Ford who following the Trial announced the following award winners.
First – John Halsted with FTCh Brocklebank Navigator of Chatsworth
Second – Billy Steel Jr and FTCh Harperrig Breac
Third – John Halsted with Macgiriaght Foxy Lady

Congratulations to Chapel Farm sponsored handler John Halsted on his results at the Two Day Open Stake organised by the Labrador Retriever Club and held at Bowhill, Selkirk on Friday and Saturday.

As well as being awarded first place with Astra he was also awarded second place with Paxto.

This is the seventh time Astra has qualified for the championship, in itself a fantastic achievement, very well done and best wishes for the championship.

Chapel Farm Sponsored Junior Handler Tallulah was competing at Sandringham Game Fair at the weekend.
Firstly on the Saturday in the Lintran Junior Challenge Finals with Willow where qualification had been achieved by winning various Scurry Bandits events at Living Heritage shows throughout the year. They did very well returning a fantastic score of 100/100 for first place.
The same day they picked up a first and second in two timed events followed later by a win in the Junior Novice Test run by Marshkeeper Gundogs.
On the Sunday they again won the Junior Test, had a third in the Victor Ludorum Final and two seconds and two thirds in the individual events.
Dad Phil also had a good weekend picking up a first in Saturday’s Novice Test with Fern, then borrowing Willow for a win in the Open. In addition he picked up a first, second and third in other events.
Phil reported that the dogs had performed very well with plenty of stamina which he put down to the Performance 24+ they are fed on.

“We were competing at Dundee Alsatian and Training Club’s Agility Show at the weekend which was held at Glamis Castle near Forfar (new venue for the show, an amazing setting!).
Buddy (my youngster) had a great weekend, winning his agility class on Saturday to take him up to Grade 5. To top off the weekend, he also won his class on the Sunday with a cracking run, winning by 8 seconds. Really pleased with his progress over the last 6 months, his confidence is coming on in leaps and bounds and his speed is increasing too, the Chapel Farm Performance 24+ certainly helps in that regard!!
