A Gentle Reminder, Don’t Leave it Too Late.

David’s Spaniel training DVD’s remain popular all year round but we always see an increase in demand at this time of year possibly due to some finding their way under the Christmas tree as they do make an ideal gift for the gundog handler.

If you are considering making a purchase could we kindly ask that you order as early as possible. Especially so for those destined overseas as the last posting date for Airmail pre-Christmas Delivery, depending on destination, can be earlier than expected.

David and Ozzie Qualify for Cocker Championship

Heolybwlch Goose of Buccleuch, “Ozzie” handled by Buccleuch Gundogs Manager, David Lisett entered his first trial three weeks ago. It was an Open Cocker Stake held at Invermark, organised by The North of Scotland Gundog Association. Despite his lack of experience, Ozzie performed very well and achieved an excellent Third Place.

On Saturday, in only his third trial, Ozzie and David enjoyed good fortune and were announced as the winners of the Scottish Gundog Association Open Cocker Stake held at Auchleish.

This is fantastic news for Chapel Farm Kennels as this win qualifies David and Ozzie to compete at the Cocker Spaniel Championship which will be held at Faccombe Estate on the third and fourth of January.

Great Result for Lee Hartis and Chapel Farm

Chapel Farm sponsored gundog handler Lee Hartis has enjoyed his second win in a week.

His first was with Troddenmills full throttle of Leacaz, “Todd” at the Yorkshire Field Trial Society 2-day Open Stake held at Ripley Castle. This win qualified Lee and Todd to compete at the IGL Retriever Championship, a 3-day event which will take place this year at Glenalmond at the end of November.

Yesterday’s success was at the Gamekeepers 2-day Open Stake at Emblehope, again with “Todd”, with this win making Todd into a Field Trial Champion.

Many Congratulations Lee and Good Luck at the Championship.

A Great Start to the Season for Simon Dixon

Chapel Farm sponsored Simon Dixon is having a fantastic year. His third win of the season came at the 3T’s Open at Stean mid-September with FTCh Dawsonlee Jellybean (Lucy)
His latest win came yesterday with first timer Dawsonlee Legolas at the ESS Club of Scotland Novice AV Stake at Craigadam Estate courtesy of Mr Richard Pickup. Steward of the beat was Mr Tristan Unthank with Judges Mr S Charlton and Mr J O’Connor.
First – Simon Dixon – Dawsonlee Legolas
Second – Martin Smee – Glenlaggan Amy
Third – Alan Sankey (also Chapel Farm sponsored) – Glenlaggan Arrow

Well done to all taking part and our congratulations to the prizewinners.

Thanks to Simon for sending the photo taken yesterday which shows sponsored handlers Alan and Simon with their dogs and prizes.

Success at Sandringham for Tallulah and Amelia

Chapel Farm Sponsored Junior Handler Tallulah Dyson and younger sister Amelia enjoyed their time at Scurry Bandits at Sandringham Game and Country Fair and as can be seen both did very well in the various scurries with Amelia having a great Saturday being awarded three firsts.

On the Sunday Tallulah competed in the Combined Scurry Final consisting of four different stations running Fern and Willow respectively where she achieved first and second place.

Tallulah also competed in the Lintran Working Test with Willow and Fern was awarded second and third.

Thanks to dad Phil for the update and photos and our congratulations to Phil also as he has been among the prizes himself winning the Leicestershire Open Cold Game Test and being awarded Guns Choice with Fern in her first Trial, the Scottish FTA Novice.

An Excellent Galloway Country Fair

Thanks to all who attended Galloway Country Fair at the weekend and visited the Chapel Farm marquee. It was really good to see so many old friends and to make quite a few new ones.
The weather on Saturday was very pleasant and while the forecast for Sunday may not have been so good, the weather was in fact very kind and the rain was nowhere near as bad as expected. Even when we had a shower it could not dampen the spirits of those in attendance.
The main ring entertainment was excellent, well done to all who took part in the various displays. Our thanks go especially to Chapel Farm sponsored Lee Hartis who gave this year’s gundog demonstrations following which he was happy to answer any training queries from audience members. This was Lee’s first time in front of an audience, he did a grand job and we hope we are able to entice him back in the future.

We offer thanks to all those involved in creating the Fair and we look forward to seeing you there next year.
To keep up to date and plan your visit, check out the GCF website from time to time http://www.gallowaycountryfair.co.uk/

Congratulations on New Arrivals

Thetford based Chapel Farm stockist Kevin Crawley of Kingsrange Gundogs called on Friday to place his latest order. He was quite busy at the time, as his Lab bitch had just started giving birth.
Kevin called back later to report on the whelping, which had gone very well and last night sent the photos of a very happy looking Mum with her youngsters.
Our congratulations to Kevin on these new arrivals.
